In short

The best Replit alternative for a small business that needs a marketing website rather than software is AgentSite. Replit is a cloud coding platform: Core is $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) and Pro is $100 ($90 yearly), each including that amount in monthly credits, and Agent work in Power or Max mode plus publishing, compute and data transfer are all drawn from those credits and billed as usage after them. AgentSite is an AI agent that plans, writes and publishes a complete business website with hosting included, from $49 a month billed yearly or $99 monthly, on a fixed monthly edit allowance. If you are writing code or building an app with a database and logins, Replit is the better tool.

THE BILL

On Replit the plan is the first line, not the whole bill.

Replit publishes every rate, which is to its credit. Core includes $20 of monthly credits, then Agent work in paid modes, Autoscale publishing at a $2 base fee plus compute and requests, storage and data transfer draw them down, and anything past the credits is usage. AgentSite is one subscription with hosting included and a fixed number of edits.

WHAT YOU GET BACK

A finished business site, not a project to deploy.

No server type to pick, no secrets panel, no deployment logs. The agent plans the pages a service business needs, writes each one, sets titles and meta descriptions and puts the site live on your domain with hosting and SSL included.

HOW WE COMPARE

Replit is a serious product and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. It started as an in-browser coding environment, it now ships an AI agent that can build full-stack apps from a prompt, and it handles databases, secrets, deployments and collaboration in one place. If you write code, or you are a founder building a real application with user accounts and a backend, it is one of the strongest platforms you can pay for.

People search for a Replit alternative for two different reasons. The first group is developers who want a different environment: a local editor like Cursor, a cloud workspace like GitHub Codespaces, or a prompt-first app builder like Lovable or Bolt.new. For them the honest answer is in the rivals table further down. The second group is business owners who used Replit Agent to get a company website made, because the demo looked like magic, and then found themselves choosing between Autoscale and Reserved VM deployments, reading about compute units and watching a usage meter.

That second situation is where the friction comes from. Replit bills in layers. The subscription includes monthly credits, Core $20 and Pro $100, and those credits are spent on Agent work in its paid modes, on publishing, on database storage and on outbound data. Replit Agent uses effort-based pricing, charged per checkpoint, so a small fix costs less than a large build and the exact amount is known after the work runs. Publishing has its own rates: an Autoscale deployment carries a $2 monthly base fee plus $0.60 per million compute units and $0.40 per million requests, and a Reserved VM starts at $15 a month for a shared machine. None of that is unfair, it is how a cloud platform is priced. It is just a lot of decisions for someone who wanted a homepage, five service pages and a contact form.

A business website also needs things a coding platform leaves to you: a page for each service you sell, a page for the towns you cover, titles and meta descriptions written for what customers search, and copy that sounds like the business. Replit Agent will build any of it when you prompt for it, but you decide the structure, write or approve the words, pick the deployment type and keep an eye on usage.

AgentSite takes the opposite approach. You describe the business once and the agent plans the page structure, writes every page, sets the on-page SEO and publishes the site on your domain with hosting and SSL included. There is no deployment type to choose and no compute meter. After launch you change things by telling the agent what you want, on a fixed monthly edit allowance where each request counts once.

Replit is a cloud development platform with an AI agent, billed as a subscription plus usage for Agent work, publishing and compute. AgentSite is an AI agent that builds and runs a finished business website on a flat plan.

WHY SWITCH

What changes when you move a business website off Replit

01

The copy gets written for you

Replit Agent builds what you prompt. AgentSite writes the homepage, each service page, the area pages and the contact page from one description of your business.

02

No deployment decisions

Autoscale, Reserved VM, Static and Scheduled are real choices on Replit, each billed differently. On AgentSite the site is simply live on your domain, with hosting and SSL in the plan.

03

A bill that does not move

Replit spends monthly credits first and bills usage after them. AgentSite is a flat monthly or yearly price, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

04

Pages planned for search

The agent builds a page per service and per area you cover, with titles, meta descriptions, headings and a sitemap, which is the structure a local business needs to be found in Google.

05

Nothing to keep running

A marketing site has no server process, no database and no dependencies to update. There is nothing for an AI fix to break and nothing to redeploy by hand.

06

Honest limits

AgentSite does not write application code, run a database or build user accounts. Starter shows an AgentSite badge that Pro removes. If you need software, Replit is the better buy.

§ THE FIELD

The main Replit alternatives, compared.

Most Replit alternatives lists compare coding environments, which is right if you write code. If you only need a website for a business, most of those tools are the wrong category, because each one still hands you a project to build and run. Here is the field split by what each tool actually delivers.

Replit Core is cheaper per month than AgentSite Starter, and the page says so plainly. What the money buys is different: Replit sells a development platform and AI capacity, and you supply the plan, the words and the deployment choices. AgentSite sells a website that is planned, written, published and hosted for you. Replit usage rates are taken from its billing docs and can change; check each vendor before you buy.

§ FAQ

Common questions.

It depends on what you are building. For code, Cursor is the usual pick if you want a local editor, GitHub Codespaces for a cloud workspace, and Lovable or Bolt.new for prompt-first app building. For a business website rather than software, AgentSite fits better, because an AI agent plans, writes and hosts the whole site on a flat plan with no deployment settings.

Replit Core is $20 a month, or $18 a month billed yearly, and includes $20 of monthly credits. Pro is $100 a month, or $90 billed yearly, with $100 of credits. Agent work in paid modes, publishing, storage and data transfer are paid from those credits, then billed as usage. Our Replit pricing guide works through real monthly totals.

It can build one, and Replit Agent will produce a working site from a prompt. The catch is that Replit is a development platform, so you choose a deployment type, decide the page structure and SEO yourself and pay usage on top of the plan. That suits people who like to build. If you want the site written and kept live for you, a website agent like AgentSite is the simpler buy.

Not on paid plans in the way most people assume. The free Starter plan includes one published app that expires after 30 days. On Core and Pro, publishing is paid from your monthly credits: Static deployments are billed on outbound data at $0.05 per GB, Autoscale has a $2 monthly base fee plus compute and requests, and Reserved VMs start at $15 a month.

Usage beyond your monthly credits is billed, within the usage limit you set in your account. If you set a limit and reach it, Replit blocks usage-based services until the next billing cycle or until you raise the limit, so a live app can stop serving. You can also buy credit packs of $100, $300, $500 or $1,000, with a discount on the larger ones.

On Pro, yes. Replit says unused Pro credits roll over for two months. Replit does not describe rollover for Core credits in its plan documentation, so plan on Core credits being a monthly amount. AgentSite edit allowances reset monthly, and each request counts once regardless of size.

Yes, if what you need is a website. AgentSite charges a flat monthly or yearly price that includes hosting, with a fixed edit allowance per month. Most AI app builders, including Lovable, Base44, Bolt.new and v0, meter AI work in credits or tokens in some form, and most coding platforms bill hosting separately.

On the plan price, yes. Replit Core is $18 a month billed yearly against $49 for AgentSite Starter. Replit is the better value if you are comfortable building, writing and deploying the site yourself. AgentSite is worth the difference when you want the pages planned, written and hosted without touching a deployment setting. See how website builder cost compares across platforms.

For non-technical founders building an app MVP, many people find Lovable easier, and it starts at $25 a month for 100 credits. Replit gives developers a real coding environment, deployments and collaboration in one place. Both meter AI work. Our Lovable alternative comparison and Lovable pricing breakdown cover the details.

You do not import the code. You describe the business, paste in anything you want kept such as service lists or prices, and the agent rebuilds and writes the site. When you are happy with it, point your domain at the new site and shut down the Replit deployment so it stops drawing credits. Our website redesign with AI page shows how a rebuild works.

Anyone writing software: a SaaS product, an internal tool, an API, a booking system or a client portal with logins and data. Replit is built for exactly that, and AgentSite does not do it. Move only the marketing website, and keep the application where it is.

Yes. Starter sites carry a small AgentSite badge, and Pro and Studio remove it. Replit keeps its Made with Replit badge on the free Starter plan and removes it on paid plans.

That usually means the tools were built for apps. Compare the Base44 alternative page, which covers the same problem from the app-builder side, or skip building entirely with a done for you website.
