In short
Website design packages for small businesses in the United States cost about $1,000 to $6,000 upfront for 5 to 20 pages, based on package prices published by US design firms and read on September 26, 2026, plus $75 to $175 a month if the firm also hosts and maintains the site. The price difference between tiers is mostly page count, and the line item that most often sits outside the package is copywriting, sold as a $900 add-on or left to you. AgentSite is the alternative to a package: an AI agent writes and builds the whole site for $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly, with hosting and changes included and no upfront fee.
OVERVIEW
A website design package is a fixed-price bundle: a set number of pages, a design, some setup work and a launch date, sold at a price you can see before you call. That is why people search for packages rather than asking for a quote. You want to know what a normal small business site costs, what is included and what is not, before you spend an afternoon on sales calls.
We read the published package pages of US design firms that rank for this search on September 26, 2026. The prices are real and they are not outliers. MacMillan Design in Georgia sells seven tiers from $1,000 for up to 7 pages to $10,500 for up to 40, with turnaround from one to nine weeks. Logical Position sells Starter, Standard and Premier at $3,000, $4,500 and $6,000 for 1 to 10, 11 to 20 and 21 to 40 pages, paid 50 percent down and 50 percent before launch, with a six month commitment and then $149 a month. Succeeding Small in Denver sells a five page Starter Site for $2,500, with hosting and management at $75 or $175 a month. 10com Web Development sells Wix builds from $597 for a one page landing page to $2,797 for 25 pages, shown as sale prices against regular prices roughly twice as high.
Several of the biggest national names do not publish package prices at all. GoDaddy, Web.com and Network Solutions route you to a phone number, and Hibu lists three tiers with "request custom pricing", a 6 to 12 month contract and an implementation fee with no amount. That does not make them bad, but it does mean the only prices you can compare in advance are the ones in the table below.
Here is the part the package pages do not put in bold. Page count moves the price, but the thing that most often decides whether the site actually launches is the copy. Logical Position says the client supplies the content, with its SEO team writing it as an optional extra. Succeeding Small sells website copywriting as a $900 add-on to its $2,500 Starter Site. MacMillan includes AI copywriting, capped at 1,000 words on its first two tiers, which is roughly 140 words a page on a seven page site. If you have ever started a website project and watched it stall for a month waiting on the About page, you already know why this line item matters more than the design tier.
The second thing to read is what happens after launch. A package is a one-time build, so changes afterward are billed. Some firms bundle a small monthly allowance, such as 30 minutes of edits a month in Succeeding Small's $175 plan. Others bill hourly. Logical Position's terms are the clearest example of why the contract matters: the six month commitment carries a 75 percent charge on the remaining dues if you cancel early. None of this is hidden, but it is on the terms page rather than the package card.
So there are three honest ways to buy a small business website in 2026. You can buy a package from a design firm, which gives you a person's judgment and a real portfolio, and usually costs $2,500 to $6,000 before copy and maintenance. You can use a DIY builder such as Durable, published at $25 a month or $22 billed yearly on its Launch plan, where you get the software and write and arrange the site yourself. Or you can use an AI agent that does the writing and the building for you.
That third route is what AgentSite is. You describe the business the way you would brief a new employee: what you sell, who buys it, where you work, what makes customers choose you. The agent plans the page map, designs the layout, writes every page, sets the titles and meta descriptions, and publishes the site with hosting and SSL. After launch it stays on as the editor, so a new service or a price change is a sentence you type rather than a ticket you pay for. The Starter plan is $99 a month, or $79 a month billed yearly ($948), for one site of up to eight pages with 150 chat edits and blog articles a month. Pro is $249 a month, or $199 billed yearly, for five sites of up to twelve pages with structured data. Every plan is on the pricing page.
The trade is real in both directions. A good design firm will push back on your positioning, source photography, design a logo and build a custom booking integration, and if you need those things a package from a firm with a portfolio you like is money well spent. What the agent gives you instead is a finished, written site the same day and changes without a ticket queue, at a price closer to a phone plan than a project invoice. If you would rather spread the cost of a human-built site monthly, our comparison of the website design subscription market covers the $79 to $349 a month pay monthly shops, and the website builder cost guide covers the DIY platforms.
§ WHAT YOU GET
Built into every AgentSite build.
The copy is part of the build
Package pages usually list copywriting as an add-on or leave it to you. The agent writes every page from your brief, service pages, About, FAQ and contact, so the project does not stall on the words.
No upfront invoice
Packages ask for $1,000 to $6,000 before launch, often half down. AgentSite has no setup fee. You pay $99 for the month, or $79 a month billed yearly, and hosting and SSL are in that price.
Changes without a quote
After a package launches, edits are billed hourly or rationed to a monthly allowance. Here you type the change and it ships, with undo. Starter includes 150 chat edits and blog articles a month.
Same-day launch
Package turnaround runs one to nine weeks, most of it spent collecting content. A complete first draft of every page exists minutes after the brief, and most owners publish the same day.
You keep the site
Every page downloads as a standalone HTML file you can put on any host, and the export keeps working after you cancel. Your domain connects in your name on every plan.
Search basics done on every page
Each page gets its own title and meta description, one H1, a clean heading outline and a place in the sitemap. Pro and Studio add schema.org structured data for the business and each page.

§ FAQ
Common questions.
Published US packages read on September 26, 2026 run from about $1,000 for up to 7 pages to $6,000 for 21 to 40 pages, with most five to ten page small business sites between $2,000 and $4,500. Hosting and maintenance usually add $75 to $175 a month, and copywriting is often a separate charge of around $900.
At minimum: a stated number of pages, mobile-friendly design, basic on-page SEO, a contact form, hosting setup and a launch date. Check four things that are often excluded: copywriting, stock or original photography, changes after launch and who owns the files. If the package does not name them, assume they cost extra.
Usually. The common extras are copywriting, hosting and maintenance after launch, extra pages, e-commerce, booking integrations and a domain. Some firms also require a minimum monthly term, and some charge an implementation fee. Ask for the total first year cost in writing, not just the package price.
With most design packages you do, or you pay extra. Logical Position has the client supply content, Succeeding Small sells copywriting as a $900 add-on, and MacMillan includes 1,000 words of AI copy on its first tiers. AgentSite writes every page from your brief, and rewrites any of it when you ask.
Design firms publish one to nine weeks depending on the tier, and four to eight weeks is typical for a five to ten page site. Most of that time is spent collecting content from the owner. With AgentSite a first full draft of every page exists minutes after the brief.
Sometimes for the first year, often as a separate monthly plan. Succeeding Small charges $75 or $175 a month for hosting and management, and Logical Position moves to $149 a month after its six month commitment. AgentSite includes hosting and SSL on every plan, with no separate invoice.
Yes, but check how. Package sites are usually edited by the firm at an hourly rate or within a small monthly allowance, or by you in the builder they used. On AgentSite you type the change in plain language and the agent applies it to the live site, 150 times a month on Starter.
Count the pages you really need (most service businesses need five to eight), decide who will write them, and ask what changes cost after launch. If you need custom design, branding or integrations, a firm package is worth it. If you need a complete, written site quickly, an agent is cheaper.
A custom site has layouts designed for your pages; a template site adapts an existing theme. Template packages are cheaper and faster, and some firms sell them without saying so plainly, so read the terms: Logical Position states its small business packages are template sites built on Duda.
A package buys a person to do the work, for $2,500 to $6,000 plus maintenance. A builder like Durable, at $22 to $49 a month, gives you tools and a draft to finish yourself. AgentSite sits between them: it is priced like a builder, and the agent does the writing and building like a firm would.
Yes, with every provider we checked, including AgentSite. You keep the domain registered in your name and point it at the new site. If your current site ranks on Google, keep the same URLs or set 301 redirects when you switch so you do not lose the rankings you have.
Yes. Pay monthly website plans spread the build over a monthly fee, usually $79 to $349 a month, often with a setup fee or a 12 month term. AgentSite has no upfront cost and no minimum term on monthly billing. Our website design subscription page compares the monthly plans.
Most include basic on-page SEO: page titles, meta descriptions, headings and a sitemap. Ongoing SEO, content and ranking work is almost always a separate monthly service. Every AgentSite page ships with its own title, meta description, heading structure and sitemap entry, and Pro adds structured data.
